Kindly note that, pursuant to the Serbian law, it is also possible to establish other types of legal entities such as:

• Private limited companies, or its functional equivalent: Private Limited Company(LLC), Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada(SRL), Gessellschaft mit beschrankter Haftung (GmbH) and the Societe a responabilite limitee(SARL), or a partnership company(Serbian: ortakluk)
• and public listed companies:
  • Joint stock company (JSC), (Serbian: akcionarsko društvo) , Public Limited Company (PLC), C Corporation, Societas Europaea (SE), Aktiengesellschaft (AG) and Societe Anonyme/Sociedad Anonima (SA) and also,
  • Representative office (Serbian: predstavništvo) which has a non-residential legal status.

Additionally, please note that companies may opt to conduct business through a "Branch office" company (Serbian: ogranak), instead of establishing a subsidiary in Serbia.

However, having in mind the limitations of liability, small founding capital requirement (EUR 1,00), broad scope of possible business activities as well as relatively simple foundation and corporate decision-making procedures, a Limited Liability Company remains the favored legal form for conducting business.

Paid-in minimum capital requirement (minimum amount to be deposited prior to or within 3 months of company registration)
